Airmail cover from Atlanta with two 20-cent stamps

Airmail cover from Atlanta with two 20-cent stamps

An original postal-history paper object from the collection, catalogued as a international airmail cover. International cover from Vogt’s Riding Academy, Atlanta, to Erwin Glass, marked “VIA AIR MAIL” and “West Germany”. Two 20-cent US flag-and-architecture definitives form the 40-cent franking; 2 SEP is legible in the cancel, but the year is indistinct. The catalogue dating is “c. 1980s”, the country or postal area is “United States of America”, and the visible franking or postal charge is recorded as “2 × 20 cents = 40 cents”. Condition is typical of genuinely transported and opened correspondence: folds, light soiling, edge wear and small opening tears may be present and have not been concealed. Front and back were scanned directly with all visible edges retained, without retouching or artificial restoration. Details that cannot be read securely from the scan are deliberately identified as approximate rather than asserted as certain.
